SINUS LIFTS

The maxillary sinuses are air-filled, empty spaces behind your cheeks and on top of the upper teeth. When these upper teeth are lost, we often loose bone that we need so much to position successful implants. At PerioArts we are trained to perform this technique sensitive procedure to gain the bone back and enable dental implants to be placed and secured in the new bone growth. During this procedure, we gently elevate the sinus membrane and push it away from the jaw. We use different types of bone grafting material to compensate lost bone and typically leave it to heal for six to nine months. In some instances, implants can be placed at the same time.
