EXPOSING IMPACTED TEETH

The term “impacted teeth” refers to teeth that are blocked and unable to fully erupt out of the jawbone. Wisdom teeth are famous for being impacted; Canines are the second most common.
Wisdom teeth are usually removed when causing pain while growing, or gum disease in later age. Canine impaction causing much bigger issue like malocclusion and unaesthetic look, bite discrepancy and limited restorative choices.
The treatment of impacted canines always involve coordinated approach between your orthodontist and periodontist. The un-erupted canine will be exposed, and specifically designed bracket will be attached to it to facilitate the movement. Surgery for impacted (un-erupted) canines usually doesn’t require advanced sedation and post-treatment healing is uneventful.
