Preparing for Surgery

Our goal is to make your experience as comfortable as possible! Follow these pre-operative instructions to ensure a smooth procedure.

Night Before Your Surgery

  • If procedure is done under local anesthesia, please have a light snack and be well hydrated. You will be numb for awhile.

  • If you are having an IV sedation (being put to sleep), DO NOT EAT OR DRINK ANYTHING AFTER MIDNIGHT THE NIGHT BEFORE SURGERY.

  • If you take any prescribed medications on a regular basis, please discuss this with the dentist or dental assistant before the day of your surgery. We will advise you which medications you can take the morning of surgery. If you have been prescribed medications by Dr. Yagudayev prior to surgery please ensure that you have taken these medications as instructed prior to your arrival.

  • Minimize the use of alcoholic beverages.

  • Get a good night’s rest!

What to Wear

  • Comfortable clothing like a blouse or shirt with loose sleeves that can be rolled up beyond your elbow to take your blood pressure or set up IV.

  • Socks to keep your feet warm.

  • We provide blankets to make you as comfortable as possible, but you may want to bring a sweater with buttons in case you get cold.
